Snowboard Goggle Lenses
How to Choose Snowboard Goggle Lenses
Having multiple snowboard lenses ensures you can navigate the slopes regardless of the weather conditions you face throughout the day. The various color lenses are not just for aesthetics but are tailored for specific weather and lighting situations.
The key factor to consider is VLT - which stands for visible light transmission. This is measured as a percentage and indicates how much light passes through the lens. For bright days, opt for a darker lens color. For lower light conditions, choose a yellow, amber, or rose-colored lens. When selecting an interchangeable lens, ensure that the snow goggles are compatible.
How to Clean Snow Goggle Lenses
Cleaning your snowboard lenses will keep them in good condition, but it's crucial to do it correctly to avoid damage. Generally, avoid using any cleaning products on the lens, as they can often be harmful. To clean the outer lens, first, shake off any snow stuck to the goggles. Then, instead of wiping, lightly blot or dab the lens with a microfiber cloth to remove excess moisture.
Use the same technique for the inside of the lens, but be especially cautious as the anti-fog coating is located here and can be easily damaged. A common tip is to avoid touching the inside of your lens as much as possible to prevent finger marks.
