The advantages of 110mm wheels
Large wheels are trending in the rollerblading world. Discover the reasons in this article and the latest Vlog from SkatePro team rider Anders Hauerholt.
Recently, triskates like the Roces X35 rollerblades have become more common on the streets. With this new and popular type of skates, 110mm and 125mm wheels have also entered the inline skating scene.
There’s a good reason why large inline skate wheels have gained popularity. They offer significantly more speed. The larger wheel size generates more energy, thus having a greater potential to achieve high speeds compared to smaller wheels. Wheels such as the 100mm, 110mm, and 125mm also maintain their speed for a longer duration.
This makes them excellent for conserving energy when maintaining speed - something essential for long distances like the Berlin Marathon.
Smoother rides on uneven roads
If you’ve ever worn rollerskates, you know that rough surfaces, twigs, gravel, and stones can be quite a challenge. The good news is that large-diameter wheels can handle almost any surface and obstacle, providing a smooth ride.
In this video, Anders tests his triskates by racing through various surfaces in Malaga, Spain, including gravel. Watch the video above to see how it went.
