Sit firmly and comfortably. I use them when trail-riding on an Onewheel and when falling, it is important that they absorb a blow well and do not slide away from the knee down when I fall forward on my knees if, for example, I can't run out of a nose-dive. This one certainly doesn't do that, and the padding on the side gives additional protective and strength. It is also easy to put on/off.
