The Alienation Venus Planetary Freecoaster/Cassette represents a freecoaster hub that utilizes Planetary technology. It offers a crisp sound and engages immediately without obstructing the wheel when riding backwards. Indeed, Planetary hubs combine the most favoured features of cassettes and freecoasters into a single hub. This hub allows for the assembly of an exceptionally robust wheel with 36 spokes. Male axle hubs like this one are secured to the dropouts with a nut.
- Ensure that your pegs are compatible with the 14mm axle diameter of this Alienation hub.
- Hub guards are included to support your grinds and extend the lifespan of your hub.
The Alienation Venus Planetary hub functions as a freecoaster but delivers the feel and sound of a cassette hub. It employs a Planetary Clutch system that significantly reduces slack. The hub axle is crafted from hollowed heat-treated 4140 Chromoly, while the shell is composed of 6061-T6 alloy. This results in a weight that is approximately 30% less than traditional freecoaster hubs without compromising strength or function.
